ZVRS and Purple Communications are solution-makers dedicated to delivering the highest-quality and most innovative communication services to meet the unique needs of Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
Video Relay Services (VRS)
Video Relay Service, or VRS, is a type of telecommunications relay service that allows deaf and hard of hearing persons to communicate in American Sign Language with voice telephone users through video equipment. VRS involves a vertical interaction of three separate components: videophone equipment, a communication technology platform, and interpreter service. ZVRS/Purple supplies all three components as a single vertical package in an efficient manner. This is federally funded by the FCC and free for both parties. Some of these components are shared among ZVRS/Purple's three other service offerings to optimize the resourcefulness of these components.
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is an on-demand sign language interpreting service that enables people who are deaf/hard-of-hearing and their hearing counterparts that are in the same location to communicate through an ASL interpreter using a computer with a webcam, a tablet or smartphone via an internet or 4G connection.
Scheduled Virtual Interpreting (SVI)
Scheduled Virtual Interpreting (SVI) is an alternative to in-person American Sign Language interpreting services where all parties are connected remotely via a video conferencing platform such as Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, or any other web accessible video conferencing platform.
Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART)
Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) is a service that provides real-time transcription of spoken conversation into text captions. This solution, displayable on viewing screens and smart devices, opens the door to easy, realtime communications for presentations.
In-Person or "Onsite" Interpreting
In-person interpreting – skilled and highly-qualified interpreters at your site. This solution is ideal for bridging the communication for one-on-one conversations, group meetings, or larger events.
